BUTTS COUNTY FAIR
It’s fall once more, and that means it’s time for the Butts County Fair! The Butts County Fair will return again to Jackson, Georgia. The fair will take place at the Butts County Fairgrounds beginning Tuesday, September 27, and end Saturday, October 1. This will be yet another great way for you to spend time with your family and have fun during the fall!
According to their website, the fair will open nightly at 6 PM and gate entry will cost only $4. In addition to a low gate entry fee, there will be a special wristband for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. This wristband will allow students to ride all of the rides at the Butts County Fair!
According to the Jackson Progress-Argus, the fair will host not only carnival rides, but will have games, as well as fair foods, such as “candied apples, boiled peanuts, and corn dogs.” A local Methodist group, River of Life, will operate the food concessions in the fairgrounds clubhouse, and the proceeds will help the community with local housing needs.
The fair is sponsored by the Exchange Club of Jackson. For more information about this local nonprofit, you can attend their meetings, which take place on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the clubhouse on the fairgrounds. Or, you can call Stan Hogan at 770-777-7880.
